Before your Halloween party, when only a couple beers in, I was telling Luke how the Great Marketing of the US has fucked the vast majority of our country. Whether or not this is true is debatable. Yet so many people HAVE or NEED to eat at McDonalds, or buy a Bowflex, etc. People are willing to shit their lives away on unneeded products because of how goddamn tempting they are, or how important status really is to them.
